Indian poultry breeds such as Kadaknath and Koraput are raised in a free-range environment without any commercial feed input. They naturally forage on spillovers from other livestock and undigested feed in cow dung. More importantly, they consume ticks and other ectoparasites, contributing to the overall health of the livestock. Additionally, they aid in controlling pest insects that can hinder plant growth.
